VAN-HAKKARİ-MARDİN TOUR WITH FLIGHT General Information About

1. Day: ANTALYA-VAN-AKDAMAR ISLAND

We meet at Antalya Airport domestic lines at 07:00 in the morning and go to Van with the 08:35 Van plane of Sun Express airlines. We meet with our vehicle waiting for us at Van Airport. With a panoramic Van city tour, you can see the Van Castle, Urartian King Tombs, and Urartian ruins, and watch the insatiable beauty of Lake Van, then take a pleasant trip to Akdamar to see the historical Van houses at the foot of the Van Castle and the Ulu Mosque and Hüsrev Pasha Mosques in the old city of Van. We are taking a boat ride. We visit the Akdamar Church, which is located on Akdamar Island and is famous for its stonework, and then we take a tour of the island. Then we move on to our hotel for accommodation and dinner.

2. Day: VAN-YAVUZLAR VILLAGE-BAŞKALE-ŞEMDİNLİ- YÜKSEKOVA

After having breakfast at the hotel, we first see the Hoşap Castle in a panoramic view and move to the Yavuzlar village, which is another natural beauty of Van, which is also known as Vanadokya among the people, where there are volcanic formations. After a break in front of the fairy chimneys, after seeing the Armenian church in Albayrak village, we visit the Bartholomew Church, which was built on a hill overlooking the Great Zap Valley in Van's Başkale district, with the narration of our guide. We visit the River Kayme Palace in Şemdinli. After seeing this palace built in the 20th century, we move towards the stone bridge on the Şemdinli stream. After seeing this beautiful work in Bağlar (River) village, we continue on our way accompanied by beautiful landscapes, and arrive in Yüksekova. We see Yüksekova’s Iranian Passage (Smugglers Passage). Accommodation and dinner at our hotel.

3. Day: YÜKSEKOVA-SÜMBÜL MOUNTAIN-ZAP VALLEY-BERÇALAN PLATEAU-MEYDAN MADRASA- HAKKARİ

After having breakfast at the hotel, we get on our vehicle and take a break on the Devrimci (Deniz Gezmiş) Bridge, which was built under the leadership of Devrimci Genç, including Deniz Gezmiş, on our road route. After a break at the Sümbül Mountain and Zap Valley observation terrace, we come to Hakkari. Then we move to the Berçelan Plateau, one of the most important natural beauties of the region. After our plateau trip, we visit the Meydan Madrasa in the center of Hakkari. On the door of the Madrasa, which dates back to 1700-1701, we see a large inscription, the content of which consists of verses from the Qur'an. The Urartian Cemetery is one of the important artifacts that were accidentally unearthed during excavations in the city center of Hakkari. As a result of the examinations made in the graves unearthed during the high school excavation, it was revealed that they have a history dating back to 1000 BC from their graves. In the burial chamber in the cemetery, figures from the Early Iron Age and the Urartian Period were found. Today, we see the artifacts found in the tomb, which is exhibited like an open-air museum, and after the free time we will give, we go to our hotel.

4. Day: ÇUKURCA-ONBUDAK VILLAGE-ŞIRNAK

After having breakfast at the hotel in the morning, we go to Çukurca. On our way, we pass the village of İşşi (Onbudak), an old village connected to Uludere. While this Chaldean Village, with its beautiful scenery and various fruit trees, becomes a place in our memories, we also get information about the Chaldeans and Chaldean culture. Then we continue on our way to Çukurca. We stop by the historical tahini workshop in Çukurca and get information about the famous Çukurca tahini making. We see the castle named Çel, the old name of Çukurca, and Armenian houses. After this beautiful and impressive region, we go to Şırnak and after our panoramic city tour, we go to our hotel.

5. Day: ŞIRNAK- CİZRE-MARDİN

After having breakfast at the hotel in the morning, we meet with our vehicle to go to Cizre. First, we go to Cizre Castle. We see Bırca Belek-Ateşgede structures among the castle structures. Then we visit the Mem-u Zin Tomb, the protagonists of a very important love story that happened about 550 years ago. After listening to this beautiful love story in the tomb, we visit the Cizre Great Mosque. Hz. Noah's tomb will be our next place to visit. After the tomb, we pass to Medresa Sur, known as the red Madrasa. After seeing this madrasah, which was one of the most important educational places in the past, we move to İdil. We are going to Kivex (Cave) village, which is a part of Şırnak's İdil district and one of the abandoned villages in the 1990s. We get information about the Ezidism (Yezidism) belief in the village. After seeing the outstanding examples of local architecture, we visit another abandoned village; the Syriac Bsorino (Haberli) village. Bsorino took the name "Haberli" in Turkish, inspired by the Syriac meanings of "sabro" (hope) and "sbartho" (good news). After visiting the two villages, we pass to the Church of the Virgin Mary in İdil. After getting the necessary information from the church official in the building, which is one of the important churches for Assyrians, we go to Mardin. Accommodation and dinner at our hotel in Mardin.

6. Day: MARDİN-HASANKEYF-MİDYAT-ANTALYA

After having breakfast at the hotel, we first arrive in Hasankeyf, which is in danger of being submerged by the Ilısu Dam. In Hasan Keyf, which has been uninterruptedly built due to being the crossing point of the Silk Road on the Tigris; we take a photo break next to the new bridge to see the traces of Artuqid, Ayyubid, and Ottoman. After watching the whole “Hasan Keyf”, especially the Artuklu Bridge, we move towards Midyat. In Midyat, which looks like a small Mardin, we see the District Governor's Guest House (which will be seen from the outside), Eski Han, and Midyat streets, which hosted the shooting of many famous TV series and which is one of the most important examples of civil architecture in the region and we shop at Telkariciler Street. Then, after visiting the Deyrulzafaran Syriac Monastery, which was used as the residence of the Syriac Orthodox patriarchs for 640 years until 1932, we move to the center of Mardin. We get out of our vehicle in the old city square of Mardin and start our tour of Mardin on foot. During our walk, we will occasionally use the main street, sometimes narrow streets, and abbaras. On foot, you will see the Virgin Mary Church and the Patriarchate (Mardin Archeology and Ethnography Museum), Abdüllatif Mosque, Gazi Paşa Primary School, PTT building, Zinciriye Madrasa, Şehidiye Mosque, Sabancı Mardin City History (former military) Museum, and then have lunch. We give free time in New Mardin. Afterward, we take the Sun Express 21:30 flight to Mardin Airport to return to Antalya and we bid you farewell to see you at the next TALYA TOUR organization.
